If you are planning on a family trip there are many Washington DC attractions for kids.  You may want to stop by all of the memorials that Washington DC has to offer, but to make this trip unforgettable for you and your kids there are a few places that you cannot miss.

Busch Gardens in Williamsburg has been voted for 16 years as the most beautiful theme park.  The whole family will have a blast riding more than the 50 rides that Busch Gardens has to offer.  Busch Gardens also has the world tallest and floorless roller coaster that dives.  It is easy to get to by car or by taking a train from Union Station.

One of the best Washington DC attractions for kids is Six Flags America.  Six Flags America is a theme park that also has a water park, the Hurricane Harbor Water Park.  The park covers miles of family fun that everyone can enjoy.  Park also has concerts all season and shows every day.  The park also offers two children’s areas, the newest opened in 2010 called “Thomas Town”.  This new children’s area offers attractions such as the Thomas the Tank Engine.

If sea turtles and sharks are fun you won’t want to miss the National Aquarium.  This aquarium is our nation’s first and has more than 250 different aquatic species.  Your kids will enjoy seeing seahorses, poisonous dart-frogs and many other animals. At 2 in the afternoon you won’t want to miss the animal feedings.  It takes about 45 minutes to go through the aquarium making it the perfect start or end to the day.

Washington DC offers more than monuments and amusement parks.  Visiting Washington DC is a trip that you and your whole family will enjoy exploring everything this amazing city has to offer.
